“Whimsy Pinwheels Dress” by Kari Mecca

Kari will teach her Whimsy Pinwheels Dress featured in the Summer 2016 edition of Classic Sewing. The project features two separate dresses when worn together is as fresh as a field of flowers. Kari masterfully mixes colors and fabrics in this project. Detailed instructions included in the class materials coupled with hands-on technical lessons with Kari will leave you thrilled to add these pinwheels on many future projects.

The slip to this dress is also an adorable sundress that she will twirl and love to wear. The class will include patterns for this darling underdress.

Kari designed a brand new fabric palette for our class. You can see the fabric swtaches below. These fabrics will take the place of those seen in the same of the Eden dress.

Slip into a little sunshine with this fresh as a daisy sundress. Made from pastel floral cottons, this sundress has a scooped latticework yoke, a softly gathered skirt and shaped patch pockets. Whimsical cosmos flowers and dangling buds edge the yoke while ribbons tie at the shoulders. The skirt is embellished with scalloped whimsy trim border that is sprouting with more blooms. This dress showcases new techniques featured in Kari’s book Whimsy Flowers and Trims. Learn to make and stabilize an openwork yoke, gather a skirt onto a curved yoke, where to place. This is a one day class.
