Wildsmith’s Wonderful World is a retrospective collection of designs inspired by the late illustrator and picture book creator, Brian Wildsmith. By combining Wildsmith’s imaginative and visually exciting style of storytelling with the Liberty Fabrics Designers’ expertise, our studio team have reimagined his portfolio of charming illustrations. From magnificent jungle creatures and swooping flocks of birds to playful London cityscapes and otherworldly outer-space illustrations, we invite you to experience the expansive magic of Wildsmith’s Wonderful World.
Extraordinary renderings of buildings, machines and even the timber framed Liberty building characterfully populate this London cityscape. The Liberty Design Team extracted and rearranged motifs from their original square formation to make a wearable conversational design spotlighting an array of colourful city sights, from roadworks to lampposts and iconic red buses.
