Christmas Monogram Ornament
There will be 2 holding rows above and below the smocking design. Follow steps below to create the space for a single monogram.
1. On the first smocked row of the design (your 3rd pleater row) start with the green cable row and then continue with the next red baby wave row all the way across.
2. Find and mark the center of your smocking at a red down cable of a baby wave.
3. Counting the center wave count over 3 waves and begin smocking the baby waves on the right side according to the plate. Continue baby waves down to row 4 of the plate. You should now be at the center row of your insert.
4. Invert fabric. Counting the center wave move over 3 waves and begin smocking the baby waves on the other side according to the plate. Continue baby waves down to row 4 of the plate.
5. Mirror all above rows to close off the center section for single monogram. Finish with a green cable row.
6. Back smock center open area on all rows with a cable stitch.
7. Center letter and holly motifs. Mirror another holly motif below the letter. Use French knots for berries.
