Meet the wonderful teachers of Children's Corner Academy!

Bonnie Myszka

Bonnie has been devoted to the needle arts since she first hand-pieced a quilt at age 8. She began sewing for others four years later and is a devoted, patient teacher always willing to help her students in any way she can. She teaches beginning smocking, bishop construction, picture smocking and serger know-how at Children’s Corner.

Melissa Sansom

For Melissa, sewing provided a special bond with her mother and grandmothers. When she became a mother to her son and two daughters, she sewed nonstop for them and, to this day, always has a sewing project on hand. She is a gifted teacher for Children’s Corner.

Melissa's Resources

Susan Whitman

A gifted designer, seamstress and teacher, Susan keeps her sewing machine humming. Her relationship with Children’s Corner dates to 1994 when she was hired to make custom clothing. Four years later, when her youngest child started school, she began teaching classes at the shop. She has been teaching ever since and loves to sew for her 13 grandchildren.

Claudia Sullivan

With years of experience in the needle arts, Claudia has a love for all things textile – including smocking, needlepoint and heirloom sewing. She finds it rewarding helping customers pull a concept together and she always has a project on tap for her grandchildren. You will find her teaching at Sit ‘N Sew on Thursday nights and Stitching Corner once a month.
